TXCPA Dallas Scholarship Program

Application Criteria
To be considered for a scholarship, a student must:
- Be a student member of TXCPA. Membership for students is free!
- Attend one of the following Dallas area colleges or universities: Southern Methodist University, East Texas A&M University, University of North Texas or the University of Texas at Dallas.
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- In the fall of 2025, be a senior accounting major or a graduate student in accounting, with a minimum of 21 accounting credit hours through Fall 2024. Applicants may be full-time or part-time students.
- Applicants must have the intent of becoming a Certified Public accountant and entering the accounting profession upon graduation.
- Have a minimum accounting GPA of 3.5.
Application Instructions
Ensure that the following are submitted to the Scholarship Committee by 4:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025.
- An electronic application that includes a (1) current resume, (2) a letter addressed to the Scholarship Committee explaining your need for the scholarship, why you want to become a CPA and your plans after graduation and (3) a letter signed by the chair of the university’s accounting department
- Official cumulative college transcript(s) through the end of the Fall 2024 semester, to include credit hours earned from all colleges/universities and cumulative GPA. A separate official transcript must be provided for each school attended and all transcripts must be sent by the universities or colleges by email to scholarship@txcpadallas.cpa by the application deadline.
- Spring 2025 grades (It is acceptable to upload an unofficial University grade report for Spring 2025 grades as part of your application.)
NOTE: Before starting the application, please ensure that you have all necessary documents, information, and any additional materials prepared and organized before initiating the application process, as it will not be possible to save your progress and resume later.
Required Documents
- Letter addressed to the Scholarship Committee, TXCPA Dallas, explaining your need for the scholarship, why you want to become a CPA and your plans after graduation.
- Current Resume: Include a professional resume.
- Reference letter from the chair of the department of accounting nominating you for a TXCPA scholarship and acknowledging that you are currently enrolled and in good standing. The letter should include the department chair’s name, title, university name, email address, telephone, email address, the date of the letter and the department chair’s signature.
- Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts for the current semester may be uploaded with your application. Official transcripts from each college attended must be sent by the university or college via email to scholarship@txcpadallas.cpa by the application deadline.
If you would like, you may also attach the following documents: Extracurricular Activities, Unofficial Transcripts, Employment History and TXCPA Dallas Involvement Plans.
You will also need financial and employment information and contact information for three references. Please review the application before filing it out to ensure that you know the information you’ll need.
INCOMPLETE OR LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
