Texas State Board of Public Accountancy

Scholarships

Applications are being accepted for the Spring 2025 semester. Applications are due November 29, 2024.

The Victoria Chapter of TXCPA (TXCPA CC) established a scholarship program whose purpose is to provide scholarship assistance to accounting students who plan to become Certified Public Accountants and enter the accounting profession.   To be considered for a TXCPA Victoria scholarship, a student must: 

  • Be a U.S. citizen or a legal Texas resident (green card holder).
  • Be an accounting major entering their junior or senior year at an accredited four-year college or university, or a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in accounting in an accredited program, or those seeking the additional 30 hours of education to become eligible for a CPA license in Texas.
  • Have a GPA of at least 3.00 in accounting and 3.00 overall.
  • Have taken a minimum of 6 hours in accounting courses.
  • Have declared accounting as the major.
  • Have been considered a full-time student (at least 12 hours per semester if an undergraduate and 9 hours per semester if a graduate student) immediately prior to the current semester.
  • Be a student member of TXCPA Victoria. TXCPA student membership is complimentary.
  • Demonstrate financial need, superior ethics, social responsibility, and high scholastic achievement on campus based on the judgment of accounting faculty.
  • Be planning to continue in an educational program at the university through the next 12 months.

Scholarships of $250 - $1,000 will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee based on applicant’s qualifications.  Checks will be made payable to the college/university for the benefit of the student and sent to the college/university to be applied for the Spring 2025 semester.

TXCPA Victoria and the Scholarship Committee reserve the right to refrain from awarding scholarships in the event applicants do not meet the desired qualifications. 

Students receiving awards are expected to participate in chapter activities/events when possible. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
