TXCPA PAC Involvement
Supporting the TXCPA PAC with regular donations is the easiest and most efficient way to participate in critical regulatory and legislative efforts.
To ensure that the accounting profession continues to have a strong presence in Texas’ legislative and regulatory activities, as many individuals as possible must be involved in the political process. A key factor in determining the strength of the accounting profession in Texas’ political arena is the number of CPAs who get involved with the TXCPA PAC.
The efficacy of the TXCPA PAC is directly proportional to how many CPAs are involved: the greater the numbers, the more influence the profession will have. A donation from a PAC with 28,000 members carries much more weight than an identical donation from
a 10,000-member PAC, or even an identical donation from an individual. This dynamic goes to the very heart of grassroots political advocacy.
No Texas CPA can afford NOT to give to the TXCPA PAC.
Get involved by making a donation. Giving levels vary for your convenience:
- Gold Key Club - $1,000 +
- President’s Club - $500 to $999
- Leadership Club - $250 to $499
- Capitol Club - $100 to $249
- Sustaining member - Up to $99
Contributors of $250 or more receive an invitation to the biennial Legislative Reception and participate in personal visits to legislators in Austin. See donations report.
Contributors of $100 or more, receive the weekly newsletter update Last Week in the Legislature during the legislative session.
All contributors receive ribbons to wear at TXCPA Annual and Midyear Board meetings.
CPAs are without question among the busiest of all business professionals, and many lack the time to devote to protecting the professions interests in the legislature. Just as other professions have recognized the critical importance of political action committees, CPAs also have too much at stake to commit anything less than 100 percent to our political efforts.
